Planting Seeds
Thoughts from Our District Governor

My Fellow Lions
Over the past few months we have been looking at a decrease in membership. Our growth in Lionism membership is very important to continue our Miracles Through Service. Without our members we would not be able to serve our communities in the way we have been.

There are many people who depend on us as individual Lions and as Lions Clubs for eye exams, eye glasses, hearing aids, and eye surgeries. For the food baskets during the holidays, for the clean highways, for the many youth activities, for the many service activities we do in our communities. For Our Service.

Let’s all of us look at asking one person to come join us in our service to our communities and be “Every day Heroes” with us.  We still have six months in this Lions year to turn things around and have a positive net gain of at least One.  Invite a member of the MERL Team to help your club look at the different options your club has for membership, extension, retention and leadership. They can be a great help.  Look at some new and different ideas.

Membership & retention ......PCC Gary Van Horn
Extension ...............................PCC Steve Glass
Leadership .............................Lion Don Worth

My wish for everyone is a safe and joyous Holiday Season!!  Let’s Start 2009 Off With Our New Members!!

Lion District Governor Trish
