Welcome to Lions District 29-I website!

My theme this year is Lion’s Pride.  I’m a professional wildlife biologist with the State of West Virginia.  As such, I thought Lion’s Pride would be an appropriate theme, since a group of Lions is called a pride.  But equally as important, the term Pride can be used to describe the service we provide our communities; we are proud of our motto We Serve. As  District Governor, I would like to emphasize the concept of service within our communities this Lion year.            -DG Rob

District Governor Rob Silvester's Goals for 2009-2010

1) Support and emphasize the “Move To Grow” Theme of our incoming International President Eberhard Wirfs;

2) Foster new missions of “service to our communities” with local clubs;

3) Present a positive attitude toward clubs projects, achieving 100% support for our Lions charities and energizing clubs to be active and current with respect to clubs reports and dues;

4) Use all available resources to enhance our District including the development of new clubs and obtaining a net membership growth to insure the success and longevity of West Virginia Lions;

5) Work with every Lion, Lioness and Leo Club, encouraging collaboration to achieve our common goals;

6) Extend the services of the West Virginia Lions Sight Conservation Foundation to all of our communities;

7) Use my energies and influence to articulate the basic principles Lionism outlined by Melvin Jones.
